Welcome
The Upper Peninsula Regional Digitization Center aims at empowering libraries and historical organizations, throughout the Upper Peninsula, to contribute to a digital collection about the state's history. The digital collections will benefit scholars, students learning about Michigan history, and free-choice learners of all ages. Digital collections from the Upper Peninsula and other regions of hte state will be accessible through the Michigan eLibrary statwide catalog, Melcat, at www.mel.org.
The Regional Digitization Center assists participating libraries and organizations by providing training in digitization equipment and technical assistance. The Regional Digitization Center was established by a federal Institute of Museum and Library Services grant to Michigan State University, the Making of Modern Michigan project. Regional digital collections were enhanced by a State of Michigan Digitization, Preservation, and Access grant through the Library of Michigan.
