New Coaches
Two of the new coaches for the DSS&A reached the city on the early morning express yesterday, and one took its place on the regular train in the afternoon, an old coach on the east bound express being cut out to make room for it. The new coaches are from Jackson & Sharpe at Wilmington, Del., and are very handsome within and without. They are painted a peculair [*peculiar] maroon, and elegantly lettered in gold and red. They are heated by the Mason anti-fire heater, manufactured at Detroit and are lighted by five double lamps, the lamps and other fittings being of polished brass and bronze. The interior finish combines elegance with good taste and simplicity, and leaves nothing to be desired. Three more coaches are in Detroit being fitted with heaters and will soon arrive, while some of the baggage and mail cars have just been started from the works at Wilmington.
