Accident Report
An accident occured upon the Duluth South Shore and Atlantic Railway at Ishpeming on the 20th day of May 1884 at 345 o'clock pm, caused by:
Breaking of a compromise draw bar, while making a coupling between an ore car and a box car. End of the bar flew up and stuck Dennis Varduan, brakeman, breaking his collor[*] bone and cutting his head. Was off duty for four weeks but is at work again.
Casaulties - one employee injured.
