Cheap Rides
Ishpeming - Now that the day of free passes has passed (no
pun, d'ye mind) the railroad companies are applying a balm to
the grieved feelings of those whe [* who] were wont to travel without
paying, by offering cheap rides to the public.
Beginning September 17, and ending September 20, tickets
will be placed on sale at the DSS&A depot in this city, good
from the 19 to 23, inst., for the round trip from Ishpeming to
Jackson, Grand Rapids, Detroit and other lower peninsula cities
at the price of one fare, the trip to Detroit and return will
cost only $15.85. Further particulars can be learned of J. N.
Williams, agent of the South Shore in this city.
The C&NW will sell excursion tickets to Denver and return at
one fare for the round trip. Tickets will be sold September
13 to 18 inclusive, and as they will be good returning until
October 31, an excellent opportunity is presented to parties
desirous of visiting Colorado. Tickets will be sold to Odd
Fellows, their friends and the general public.
The C&NW will sell cheap excursions tickets to Chicago and
return during September and October, on account of the Chicago
Exposition, and will continue from September 7 to October 22,
and for the International Military encampnent beginning Oct, 1
and lasting until October 20. For information relative to dates
when tickets will be sold, rates, etc., apply to agents of the
C&NW.
