Many travelers are led to believe that by taking the morning train on the DSS&A to Champion or Republic that they can reach Gogebic that same day. This is in error as connection is not made at Iron Mountain with the train to Gogebic. The only road by which one can reach that field in one day from here is by the C&NW, taking the train which leaves Ishpeming at 6:20 am in the morning. Passenger cannot return in one day either, over any other line. If they come by the Northern they will have to lay over at Champion. By taking the C&NW here at 6:20 in the morning you reach Bessemer about 4:00 in the afternoon. Returning you reach on the day of departure from Bessemer at 8:20 in the evening.
