Change in Management
Some important changes are being made in the management of the Duluth, South Shore & Atlantic railroad. The present officials retain their connection with the road but in different capacities. Mr. Allen, the general passenger and ticket agent, is succeeded by S.F. Boyd who at present holds the same position with the Minneapolis & St. Louis railroad. Mr. Allen is transferred to the auditor's department. Mr. George T. Jarvis will soon become superintendent of Houghton & Mackinaw divisions of the road. He is at present connected with the Mexican Central railroad as division superintendent. He is said to be a young man but an experienced railroader. A.W. Watson, the present superintendent will have a more general charge. When this new apportionment of duties is added that that [*that that] it has said the management has placed orders for a large number of new engines, coaches, etc., it may reasonably be hoped that the DSS&A R'y will in future render better service to the people than it has during the past winter. - Peninsular Record.
