Regarding the report sent out from Champion to several outside dailies, to the effect that the DSS&A the "Soo" and the M&N have in contemplation the construction of an independent ore-carrying line from Champion to Gladstone, and the erection at the latter point of immense ore docks, with a view of competing with the C&NW for ore traffic now controlled by the 1atter road, it is entirely wanting in truth. The report was put on the wire by a correspondent who is much more anxious to run up a big bill each month against the papers he serves than to give them reliable information concerning matters in this region, and who is, besides, not in a position to learn beforehand of the purposes of the great railway corporations, even though he were conscientious in the matter of news he sends out, which we incline to believe he is not.
