The First Section
Part of the extension of the DSS&A from Iron River Junction to West Superior is all ready under contract, the first seventeen miles having been let to Henry & Balch, of Minneapolis, who are well known here from their connection with other upper peninsula railroad extensions. They will begin work immediately. The other sections will be let in a few days. The terminus of the road will be in West Superior between the NP-Omaha tracks, where the South Shore has valuable rights through the purchase of interests of the D&IR in West Superior.
