Required Amputation
A Switchman named George Smith met with an accident last Saturday night at 7 o'clock, that will render him a lifelong cripple. He was on a car that was being run upon No. 3 ore dock and his right foot caught in some way and bones were fractured at the ankle joint, and the company's surgeon found it necessary to amputate the foot. Mr. Smith is a man 34 years old and has family living in the first ward. He was taken to Ishpmeing hospital yesterday.
