A Promotion
Mr. D. M. Philbin has been appointed general superintendent of the DSS&A, the appointment taking effect today. The office has been long vacant, its duties having been performed by assistant superintendent A. M. Sutherland.
By this appointment Mr. Philbin is promoted from the office of superintendent of ore docks, a promotion justly deserved, for, in his former capacity, that gentleman has displayed unusual ability in handling large numbers of men, securing the best and greatest amount of work. General Manager Fitch is a keen discerner of men's qualifications and in his many wise appointments, there have been none better than the recent appointment of D. M. Philbin to the general superintendency.
