Worst of the Season
Ishpeming - The recent remarks concerning the weather predictions must have made the bureau man mad and led him to take revenge by sending us a blizzard. At any rate Ishpeming experienced the most severe storm of the season yesterday. It snowed and blowed all the previous night and worse still the storm continued unabated all yesterday.
The railroads were greatly inconvenienced. The first train out of here was C&NW No. 4, a snow plow having been sent ahead as the first section. The train got along very fairly, but the power did not fare so well. The engine driving the latter was run in on the turntable at Little Lake, the intention being to send her back north again. In turning the engine ran off and went into the ditch, "and she is down there yet," for the wrecking crew will be needed to pull her on the track again.
