The Duluth & Winnipeg
A big syndicate has been formed by New York, Boston, Chicago, St. Paul, Duluth and Michigan capitalists for the completion of the Duluth & Winnipeg railroad which is intended to be the main feeder of the DSS&A, As a result of the organization the D&W now has behind it all the money it needs, and it will build at once to the Mississippi river and to Manitoba and to other points northwest. The plans of the promoters of the enterprise are said to be broad and extensive contemplating the building up of a new and great system at the head of Lake Superior.
President McMillan, of the South Shore road, speaking to a Detroit reporter concerning the new road said: "Everything that comes into Duluth helps me, and so I hope that the D&W road will be built. There in an old charter to work on and very likely a syndicate will be formed. I certainly hope it will.
"At present," continued Mr. McMillan, laughing. "I am out of business and in politics. I am seeing people. After the 16th I shall begin again to talk business as well as politics."
